Hybrid Phone Service
The best of both worlds — your PBX on-site, your reach in the cloud
A WOCOM hybrid phone solution integrates your traditional local PBX hardware with cloud-based Voice over IP (VoIP). Physical desk phones handle local routing on your LAN, while the WOCOM cloud powers remote workers, multi-location branches, disaster recovery and AI — all on one OUR-licensed Jamaican network.

What is a hybrid phone system?
A hybrid phone system keeps a real PBX on your premises for the phones inside your building, and connects it to the cloud for everything beyond your four walls. Local calls between desks route instantly over your Local Area Network (LAN); external calls, remote staff and extra branches ride the WOCOM cloud over the internet.
It is the practical middle ground between a fully on-site system and a fully cloud PBX. You keep the equipment and control you have already invested in, and gain the mobility, scale and resilience of the cloud — without a forklift replacement. Not sure which end of the spectrum fits you? Compare Cloud PBX vs traditional phone systems.
Why hybrid
On-premise hardware and cloud PBX, working as one
Local control
Keep complete in-house administration of internal call routing, IVR menus and call quality over your own LAN. The on-site PBX keeps running the phones on your floor.
Cloud flexibility
Scale instantly for remote workers and branch offices using softphones and mobile apps on the WOCOM cloud — no extra hardware to buy, no site visit.
Disaster recovery
If your internet drops, the on-premise PBX keeps internal calls routing while the cloud automatically diverts external calls to mobiles, another branch or the AI receptionist.
Hardware freedom
Bring your existing analog or SIP desk phones and PBX, then add cloud SIP trunks to cut long-distance and international costs — no rip-and-replace.
How it works
One number, two paths — local stays local, everything else goes cloud
- ☎️ Physical desk phones (analog & SIP)
- 🖥️ Local PBX — IVR, extensions, call quality
- 🔗 Internal calls route over your LAN
- 📟 Paging, intercoms & gate phones stay wired
- 📱 Remote & mobile staff on softphones
- 🌎 Branch offices & multi-location dialing
- 🛡️ Failover if the internet or a site drops
- 🤖 24/7 AI receptionist & call reporting
Add WOCOM Flexi-SIP Trunks to your existing PBX to cut long-distance and international costs — while the cloud adds mobility and resilience on top.
Built for multi-location
One phone system across every site
Whether you run two offices or twenty, hybrid keeps each location's local phones under local control while tying them together on one cloud with free site-to-site calling.
Head office + branches
Run the main PBX at head office and connect every branch — Kingston, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Mandeville — over the cloud as free extension-to-extension calling.
On-site + remote teams
Desk staff stay on physical phones on the LAN; field, remote and work-from-home staff use the WOCOM app on the same business number.
Retail & franchise chains
Each store keeps local phones and door-to-door dialing, while head office sees every location, reports and after-hours routing from one cloud dashboard.
Hotels & campuses
Keep in-room analog handsets and paging on the local PBX, and layer cloud auto-attendant, overflow and AI answering on top.
Manufacturing & warehouses
Analog intercoms, gate phones and overhead paging stay wired on-site, while sales and admin ride the cloud for mobility and reporting.
Accessibility networks
For organisations serving the visually impaired, hybrid architecture can route traffic through custom local networks and positioning systems while staying reachable from the cloud.
How it connects
Every location on one cloud, communicating as one system
Each site keeps its own local PBX and phones for full local control, with local phone lines wired straight to the PBX. A WOCOM SIP trunk links every site to the cloud and one shared dial plan — so branches, stores and remote staff reach each other on short extensions, free. And because the local lines are independent of the internet, if a site loses connectivity its internal calls and local lines keep working.

How two sites actually talk to each other
Dial a short extension and the call rides the cloud between sites as a free internal call — no PSTN, no per-minute charge. Outside calls break out to the 876 network over the same trunks.

Hardware options
Keep the phones you have. Add the reach you need.
Use your existing hardware
Analog handsets, SIP desk phones, DECT and paging systems you already own connect to the hybrid PBX — including popular gateways like the Grandstream UCM range.
Add cloud SIP trunks
Replace costly PRI/analog lines with WOCOM SIP trunks to slash long-distance and international charges, with local and toll-free 876 numbers.
Managed by a licensed carrier
WOCOM owns and operates its own network as an OUR-licensed carrier, so provisioning, porting and fault restoration are handled by our own local 876 engineers.
