Phone Number & SIP Trunk Setup

WOCOM provides your business with a dedicated Jamaica phone number via our Flexi-SIP Trunk service. Your SIP trunk is automatically configured when you sign up for Programmable SIP.

How It Works

  1. Incoming calls hit your WOCOM 876 number.
  2. WOCOM Programmable SIP routes and handles the call.
  3. Call data (transcript, caller info, messages) is sent to Gorgias as a ticket.
  4. Your support team sees the ticket in Gorgias and can follow up.
No SIP configuration needed on your end. WOCOM handles all telephony infrastructure. Your existing phone numbers can be ported to WOCOM if needed.
6

Test Your Integration

Once connected, verify everything works:

  1. Call your WOCOM SIP number from any phone.
  2. Have a conversation with the AI agent — ask a question, leave a message.
  3. Check your Gorgias dashboard for the new ticket with the call transcript.
  4. Verify caller information and AI summary appear correctly.

Agent Email Mapping

Each Gorgias agent who needs to use the softphone must have their email mapped to a phone extension. When an agent opens the Gorgias sidebar, WOCOM reads their email from the Gorgias session and automatically connects them to their assigned extension.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them:

"Invalid Gorgias signature" error
Verify that the signing secret in your Gorgias HTTP Integration settings matches the one provided by WOCOM. Also ensure the method is set to POST, not GET.
"No phone extension mapped" error
Your Gorgias agent email must be mapped to a phone extension in the WOCOM system. Contact your WOCOM administrator to set up the mapping.
Softphone shows "Disconnected"
Check that your browser has microphone permissions enabled. Also verify that your firewall or VPN is not blocking WebRTC connections. Try disabling your VPN temporarily to test.
"Authentication Required" page appears
The softphone can only be accessed through the Gorgias sidebar, not by visiting the widget URL directly in a browser. Open a ticket in Gorgias and click the Phone tab in the sidebar.
Test Connection fails
Double-check your credentials. The subdomain URL must start with https:// and should not include /app at the end. Verify the API email and API key are correct in Settings → REST API in Gorgias.
No audio during calls
Grant microphone permission when the browser prompts you. On mobile devices, check your device audio settings and ensure the WOCOM app has microphone access in your system settings.
Widget not showing in Gorgias sidebar
After saving the HTTP Integration in Gorgias, do a full page refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R). The sidebar widget may take a moment to appear after the integration is first saved.
Method-related errors
Ensure the HTTP Integration method is set to POST. If it's set to GET, the Gorgias signature verification will fail, and the widget will show an authentication error.
