Three steps, in this order

There is no separate CV route into a technical post at WOCOM. The certification is the application — so start it, finish it, and the apply button opens on its own.

Learn the company

Understand what WOCOM actually does before you apply to do it: a licensed Jamaican carrier running Cloud PBX, Flexi-SIP trunking, contact centre and the WOCOM AI receptionist on its own network. Read the story, the products, and the customers we carry.

What we build

Get certified — free

Enrol in WOCOM Academy and take the Basic Certification (6 modules, 24 lessons, a 20-question exam), then the Advanced Certification — the WOCOM Hub portal screen by screen, plus the voice engineering underneath it. Study at your own pace, at no cost.

Apply for what's open

The Advanced certificate unlocks the application form inside the Academy. Your certificate number travels with the application, so the hiring team verifies your credential against the register before they reply — no attachments, no chasing references.

Why we hire this way

Every role on this page touches a live carrier network that Jamaican businesses depend on to take their calls. Only certified persons are considered for technical positions — the WOCOM Advanced certificate is the qualification each role is assessed against, and applications are accepted only from holders of it. That is not a barrier we put up to keep people out; it is a syllabus we published, free, so that anyone willing to work through it can get in — whatever is on their CV today.

What you can work toward

These are the positions the certification opens. Read them now, aim at the one that fits, and apply the moment your Advanced certificate is issued.

One ladder, two certificates

WOCOM Academy is our own training platform. Both levels are free, online and self-paced — and the second one is what the hiring team looks for.

Level 1 · Start here

Basic Certification

The fundamentals every WOCOM technician needs: cloud phone systems, SIP trunking, handsets and softphones, the AI receptionist and the contact centre. It assumes no prior telecoms knowledge and ends in a timed exam that issues a verifiable certificate.

6 modules 24 lessons 20-question exam 45 min 75% to pass

Level 2 · The qualification

Advanced Certification

The WOCOM Hub portal screen by screen with animated walkthroughs of the real interface — extensions and departments, the routing canvas, live call monitoring, WOCOM AI and call scoring, reporting — then the voice engineering underneath it: SIP, audio, codecs, concurrency and call quality. Marked by an assessor, not a machine.

Grow. Thrive. Make an impact.

Six things worth knowing about the work before you commit to the training.

A real network to learn on

WOCOM is licensed by the Office of Utilities Regulation to operate as a carrier. You work on our own infrastructure — switches, trunks, platform — not a reseller's dashboard.

Training that costs you nothing

The full certification path is free and self-paced, and the certificate is verifiable by anyone. It stays yours whether or not we hire you.

Technology ahead of the market

Cloud PBX, SIP trunking, contact centre, and an AI receptionist answering live calls in Jamaica. Few local roles put you this close to it.

Jamaican team, Jamaican customers

Support is here, engineering is here, installs are here. You will meet the businesses you keep connected, and they will know your name.

A path, not a dead end

Internship to support desk, support desk to field, field to SIP engineering. Each step up has a syllabus you can start today.

Work that matters when it breaks

When a customer cannot take calls, their day stops. Putting that right is the job — and it is why the standard is set where it is.

Careers — questions people ask

Yes. For technical positions — support, field engineering, installation and SIP engineering — WOCOM considers certified persons only. The WOCOM Advanced certificate is the qualification each role is assessed against, and the application form inside the Academy stays locked until it is issued.
Nothing. Both the Basic and the Advanced certification are free, online, and self-paced. You do not pay WOCOM to train, and you do not need a referral to enrol.
Start with the Basic Certification at wocomja.com/academy. It assumes no prior telecoms knowledge and builds from what a cloud phone system is up to how calls are routed, then the Advanced course takes you through the live WOCOM Hub portal and the voice engineering behind it.
That is up to you — the courses are self-paced. Basic is a short course ending in a timed exam; Advanced is longer and is marked by an assessor rather than automatically. Most people work through them around a job, so plan in weeks rather than days.
Yes. Applications are per role. Sign in to the Academy careers page, pick the role, and submit — the page shows you which roles you have already applied for and the status of each.
Roles outside the technical departments are not listed here. Email support@wocomja.com with "Careers" in the subject line and your CV attached.
The Advanced certificate is reviewed annually, so it is kept current with the platform. Your certificate number is verifiable at any time through the Academy verification page.

Your future starts with the syllabus

Enrol free, work through the certification at your own pace, and the roles on this page open to you. No CV required to start — just the willingness to learn the network.

What happens after you apply

  1. We verify your certificate number against the Academy register.
  2. We reply by email — to the address on your Academy account.
  3. Shortlisted candidates come in for a practical and meet the team they would join.
